Kija Kim visits Korea on Trade Mission For Immediate Release
Cambridge, MA ... As Massachusetts Ambassador and Board Member of the Massachusetts Software Council, Ms. Kija Kim, President of Harvard Design and Mapping, was part of a delegation that recently visited Korea at the invitation of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Korean Institute of Multimedia Contents & Software (KOMS). KOMS is the Korean government agency charged with nurturing the software and interactive industry. The mission of this trip was to share some of the knowledge gained about starting and growing software and interactive companies and to develop a business relationship between the Massachusetts Software Industry and the Korean software industry. Delegates that included Massachusetts Software Council President, Joyce Plotkin, along with other representatives of the Massachusetts software industry and governor's office met with the Minister of Information and Communications, toured the Korean IT incubator, participated in briefings, keynoted a major symposium, met with venture capitalists, and participated in several press conferences. A proclamation from Governor Paul Cellucci was also presented to the Korean Minister of Information and Communication. The Massachusetts delegation was well received and plans are underway for a delegation from Korea to visit Massachusetts in June.
