HDM Honored at DOT Minority and Women Entrepreneurs Awards Ceremony For Immediate Release
October 28, 2002 (Washington, DC) ... HDM was among a select group of minority and women-owned companies honored by U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Y. Mineta at an award ceremony in Washington, DC. "Today is a special opportunity to honor minority and women entrepreneurs who have had significant achievements and made vital contributions to the transportation industry and the nation's economy," Secretary Mineta remarked in his welcoming statement [see complete remarks here http://www.dot.gov/affairs/dot09702.htm] HDM received this award in recognition of work completed for the Federal Transit Administration that entailed the design and development of an advanced knowledge management tool for fare collection analysis called Fare RevIEW. This stand-alone, interactive application provides regional transit officials with an efficient and cost-effective tool to conduct ongoing internal reviews of their current fare collection processes, pinpoint collection weaknesses, and then receive "best practice" advice about how to improve their systems.
Reacting to this honor, HDM President Kija Kim said, "HDM has had a long and successful relationship with the U.S. Department of Transportation. We are thrilled and honored to receive this award and look forward to continuing to make significant contributions to the transportation industry." The ceremony was sponsored by the Department of Transportation's Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSMBU), and followed Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week, which celebrates the achievements of exemplary minority entrepreneurs and the contributions of outstanding advocates on behalf of small, women-owned and disadvantaged businesses. HDM has extensive experience in transportation analysis and systems design, providing innovative technology solutions for transportation professionals.
